                      Our Complaints Process Explained

Oakville Children’s Home is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for all children in our care. We welcome feedback and take all concerns seriously. If you have a concern or believe that a child’s rights may not have been respected, you are encouraged to bring it forward.

How to Make a Complaint

Click on the feedback form.

A complaint can be made:

  • verbally to a staff member; or
  • in writing by email, letter, or through the feedback form on our website

Complaints may be made by:

  • a child in care
  • a parent or legal guardian
  • a representative of the child
  • any member of the public

After a complaint has been made:

  • It will be reviewed promptly
  • You will receive an acknowledgement of your complaint (unless submitted anonymously)
  • It will be reviewed in a fair and impartial manner
  • Information will be gathered and individuals involved may be contacted
  • Parties will be informed of the outcome

We aim to address complaints as quickly as possible.

Additional Supports

A child may also raise concerns with:

  • their social worker
  • their lawyer
  • the Ontario Ombudsman

If a concern relates to the safety or well-being of a child, it may also be reported to a Children’s Aid Society.
